“Don’t be so stubborn Lloyd, we can’t stay here!” said Darude with a commanding voice. The Monk was right, and he knew it but still… He had to try. Suddenly he felt a hit on his neck and the lights went out…
Lloyd woke up on a bed in a tiny room, illuminated by a single candle on the corner. Was this another room on the tower? Did they get out? He had to know. Kicky he stood up and left in search for answers.
Right outside the first hallway was Theron, speaking to a young guy who seemed to be of a similar age and height than Lloyd.
“Where are we? What happened?”
“Calm down, This might be hard to process” said Theron.
“First, we are outside the tower on a temple of Kossuth. Reghar knocked you out for your own good. It was either that or leave you there to die”. “Before you say anything, you have to realize that there is nothing we can do to help The Lady of the Wind with our current knowledge and power. Her wish was for you to be safe and we kept our side of the bargain. You can and will probably go back in the future, and I can help you with that quest but there are some thing I need to take care of first”
Theron continued before Lloyd could reply… “Second, we have sacrificed much to get here, three years have passed on a blink and we are still trying to figure out what happened during that time. This is Edgeblade my former apprentice, we finally found him and I was waiting here for him.” He pointed to the young brown boy who then made a small reverence in what seemed to be a variation of the old formalities from Show. At this Lloyd made his salute respectfully. Lloyd couldn’t help to notice that there was some tension between them but he kept his mouth shut. Also this was too much to process and he couldn’t find the words to say anything.
“Third” Theron continued ‘’Darude and Reghar fast traveled as smoke to a town where we left Helga, his wife, because she was sick. One of our companions stayed behind to help the town and protect her while we went in search for the tower. That was three years ago as I mentioned, so we don’t know what they’ll find”
“I plan to join them with Edgeblade and then continue on my journey to retrieve my order’s legacy.” He paused for a second… ”You should join us Lloyd. We really can use your skills and I’m sure that they will improve during our quest. I promise to help you save your master when the time comes, but first I need to end this”.
Lloyd stood quiet for a while before answering… “Ok, I understand”
